Today is Friday! Very excited for the three day weekend coming up. I'm going to see lots of people I haven't seen in a while because of internship.
How do you see yourself growing or changing over the course of your internship?
I think throughout my internship I will develop in three key areas. Computer application uses, research and outreach skills and three collaboration with others. I will go in detail to each of these categories.
Computer: Almost all my time spent in the office is on a computer. I am getting more familiar with using Google Calendar, Google Drive, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, and Zoom. All of these applications (but especially Teams and Salesforce) are important to be familiar with and are applicable to most career opportunities I would likely pursue in the future.
Research + Outreach: In the process of finding potential CBOs and Contacts to collaborate with I have to make my way around the Web. Certain CBOs/Contacts may already be connected to Claire or Stan and in that case they will send me their information or forward an existing email thread to me. Once I have the information I will reach out via email and the hope with most initial connections is that an in-person meeting can happen, in order to go more in depth about the project.
Collaboration: This is maybe the most important part of my daily work at the internship and internship project. I collaborate online and in person with Claire and Stan and talk with Abril about different tasks we are assigned to. Part of collaboration is outreach and so as GRID is working with other CBOS we are a collaborating with a host of individuals. I assume that non profits in general collaborate more, at least on a Org. to Org. basis, especially because they have less money Aka less power that most for profit Corps. so working with others is vital to completing their fundamental goals (though all this is just me thinking).
As venture through my internship I am developing both soft and hard skills which will benefit me academically and outside of school!

Picture from the EV Tax Credit webinar I attended Thursday 1/12. The way tax credits work and their criteria are very interesting. From how I interpreted it the criteria the IRS used may not be the best for trying to electrify cars fast but may help the American economy more in the long run. EVs themselves are so cool! Very futuristic.
