Internship Week 5 (iPOL)

January 31st, 2023. Today is Tuesday, and maybe one of the busiest weeks because we have iPOLS on Friday and there is still ongoing work for the internship project. I am going to miss some parts of the internship like no traffic there or back and the flexibility of working from home.

How do you feel about returning back to classes next week? I am very ready to get back into school. I want to see my friends again, have a little more variability in the work I do and also start off the tennis season on Monday. Do you anticipate a different experience of school now that you have been immersed in a workplace? I don't think anything at school will be too different I think what will change is my role in clubs. As mundane as they are, writing emails has refined my skills and now I am way more confident in reaching out to people, which will come in handy for certain club events. What are you looking forward to about coming back? Getting to see my friends again and starting tennis are two things I am going to be looking forward to. What are you going to miss about internship? I am going to miss the freedom/flexibility that GRID offers as well as some of the experiences I won't be able to get at school.

In what ways has your internship inspired you to think about college or career?

I think my internship is one of many ways I will explore career paths. I don't think this internship experience was my favorite, which is okay, I don't have to like every new thing I try. Have you discovered new colleges that you are interested in attending? Not through internship, but during this same time I have started to get lots of emails and letters from colleges. Have you considered new career paths? Like I said this is just one of many career paths/interests that I have begun exploring.

On Friday we drove around Southeast San Diego and looked at the different sites we had in mind for murals. First we visited the Black arts and Culture District, then we drove to Willie Henderson Park, we went to Southcrest park, then Dorothy Petway Park, Grant Hill Park, and Finally the AT&T building (Aka a huge canvas).
