Internship Week One (Introduction to my internship)

Hello, welcome to my second blog post. Right now I am at the office (there will be pictures down below). I am on my third day of the internship today. Day one was an introduction to Abril's and Is office space, lots of tech troubleshooting (I couldn't sign into the intern account) and an introduction to the Project! On day two we started some project work, mostly researching background info relating to our project. Then we sat in on a meeting from 11-2 with some people from HQ (Basically corporate of the non-profit world), we ended off the day sending some emails and updating some of our profile information.

• What type of work do you plan to do? What are your hopes for your project?

The Project Abril and I were assigned to is titled Pueblo Planning Project and is part of Grid Alternatives Partnership with another Community Based Organization (CBO) called Pueblo Planning. 100,000 dollars will be set aside for community beautification, Education, and possibly other clean mobility upgrades in south east San Diego. Abril and I will be reaching out to Businesses, looking for artists and partnering with CBO's (among other things) to get this project rolling. This means lots of emails and office work. I hope that I meet a lot of people and have meaningful conversations with them as well as connect on a deeper level with my mentors Stan and Claire. I hope that the office work helps me really perfect the craft of sending emails, work with a busy schedule and practice real world collaboration with others.
